On the night of Saturday 29th December 2007 a 60th Birthday party for Dennis Nash with around 150 friends and family attending, this was held at the Ambassador Club in Tadley.
As a surprise his children and grandchildren and all decided to wear formal wear with the boys in evening suits and the girls all in cocktail and long evening dresses.
Luckily Dennis was persuaded to wear his evening suit, this led to many excellent family portraits being taken by the photographer Angie on the night.
Friends came from Spain and from all over the United Kingdom to attend.

Chips a live band played through the evening with a break for Dennis’s 15 year old granddaughter Samantha Jenkins to take to the microphone singing several songs such as You might Need Somebody, Say a Little Prayer, Under your clothes and others.
Dennis had decided that he would rather not receive gifts for his birthday but invited friends and family to make a donation of cash which he could present to Naomi House Hospice. |

A massive £1020.00 was Raised!!
Dennis went on stage after Sammy and explained what the charity was and asked people to dig deep! During the speech an Ice bucket went round for the collection. It was filled quite quickly. On counting up the contents of the ice bucket the sum of £1020.00 had been collected. Even better with it being a gift it qualifies for gift aid, which will add a further 22% to the donation. The party finished in the early hours with taxis laid on for partygoers to return home.
Dennis is the Managing Director of Nash Contract Services Limited, which has Naomi House Hospice as its charity for several years, raising money at the Treacle fair and through the sale of chippings during odd weekend in the year from one of their yards in Silchester Road. |

Naomi House is a Children’s Hospice and needs funds to survive, at present they are raising money for a new building called Jacks Place, this is for the older children, allowing them to enjoy the odd disco, sleep over and teenage type things that all children enjoy.
Having a separate wing would allow them to enjoy their music and activities without disturbing the younger children.
Donations can also be made by buying a brick, tile or window from Naomi House, information on the web at www.naomihouse.org.uk.
The party was a great success and with the collection of the money it made it all the more enjoyable.
