A public meeting was held on Monday 12th February at the Ambrose Allen Centre and included representatives from the Tadley Design Statement talking about 'A better future for Tadley', Sainsbury's explained about their planning for an extended shop and Tesco's talked about their planning for the Boundary Hall site.
Nicki Barry from the Tadley Town Council took notes through-out the evening and can be read on-line or downloaded by clicking the _link_ below.

Steve West took a petition into the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council with over 250 names of residents who are unhappy about the proposed planning on the Boundary Hall site for 132 houses. It's worth keeping an eye on Steve's site for updates too

The old Boundary hall site should be turned into some kind of park or garden. There is very little garden areas in Tadley.

I dont know if anyone has ever been to Boscombe, but they have a big garden area with flower beds, a basketball court etc. Heres some pics:

But Jon, what sort of specialist goods can you get in Tesco, that Sainsburies cannot stock?

I agree, we don't need another massive supermarket in Tadley. Sainsbury's should be expanded to include better ranges of products like those normally found in larger stores. Asda is better than Sainsburys and Tesco anyway.

I would like to see an open space, or more affordable/shared-ownership housing, but not another 132 houses!

I am 25 and having been living a working in Tadley for nearly 4 years now. I have noticed the most important thing in Tadley that needs addressing is things for the young people to do! Tadley is quite a socially boring place.

Krakatou is right, Tadley is very much a socially boring place.
Although I would rather see open space on that land, there is absolutely nothing to do in Tadley. That land has so much potential and currently the needs of the young community are not being addressed. There must be something that land can be used for other than affordable housing or shops.

Also, how can any one even consider building 132 houses on that land when we don't even have the facilities to cater for the ones already there?
