Parents Groups 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Hi,
My wife and I are thinking about moving to Tadley. I work in Reading which would leave my wife at home all day in Tadley with our 9 month old baby. It seems that transport in and out of Tadley might not be that great, but if there is plenty to do in Tadley it probably wouldn't be a problem.
We have seen that the library and swimming pool do activities for babies/toddlers but we were wondering if there were any "Mothers" groups where she could just meet up with people for coffee and chatting etc.
Thanks, C

Hi there,
Tadley is pretty good for activities with children - and opportunities to meet with other mums.
Hurst leisure centre do a messy play session, and have a soft play centre.
There are a few parent and toddler groups at; hurst leisure centre heath end village hall - tues morning salvation army, mulfords hill - wed and thurs hannington village hall
Tadley community centre has monkey music, lets be messy, cheeky chimps and this is where the ante natal clinics are held and mums meet up.
The library has storytime and rhymetime.
Tinytalk - babysigning - is apparently starting in June at Heath End Village hall.
It doesn't take long to walk from one side of tadley to other - e.g mulfords hill to baughurst.
Buses aren't too bad to get you from one side of tadley to the other - i think they go approx. 1/2 hrly. To get to Basingstoke sainsbury is approx. 1hr - but i'm not sure how often they go.
Hope this helps,
Beanmum

Buses to Basingstoke are normally every 20 mins during the day.
At the swimming pool they do a mum and baby session every Tues, Thurs and Sunday morning (times are diff. week to weekend).
I go to Cheeky Chimps most weeks, and think that it's really good.
I think there is a baby gym type group on Fridays at the community centre too.
Plus for free play there are always the parks (my little one loves the park near Sainsbury's on Pamber Heath), and walks in Pamber Forest. Nothing better than splashing in muddy puddles in her wellies.
Hope this helps too.

Tadley Community Centre on Newchurch road run lots of groups. cheeky chimps which is a mother and toddler group runs on Mondays from 10-12. costs 1.50 per child and it's an ideal place for mum's to meet other mums and chat over coffee.
There is also Monkey Music on a Tuesday, Lets be Messy on Wednesdays and Dinky Dancers on a Thursday.
